Our History
DW Companies was founded with the help of five individuals who all walked away from a stereotypical, top-down construction company. Turnover was high, morale was low, and culture was anything but healthy.
They’d seen firsthand what happens when people are treated like numbers, and they knew there had to be a better way.
So, in 2020, they took a leap. DW was built on the belief that people come first and that you can still be profitable while doing right by your team. What started as a mission to “do dirt work better” has grown into a movement to build a better industry, one jobsite and one crew at a time.

We are a part of the Christian Labor Association (CLA-MN). The Christian Labor Association is an independent union representing workers throughout the United States, covering a wide variety of professions and industries. The CLA works to promote harmony between Employer and Employee. This makes us a unique organization. The CLA is a labor union, certified by the National Labor Relations Board and similar state and local agencies. The CLA is not affiliated with a large international union, but democratically governed by its membership. Their method of operation allows for the crossing of trade lines, eliminating craft disputes. We have chosen to participate in this union because we believe it aligns with our team approach at DW and does not limit productivity, limits entitlement, and increases the performance of our team.
